On Wednesday April 28th, the Clio Awards held a virtual event, "Creativity Unmasked," to celebrate the ad industry's resilience during the pandemic, its evolution on diversity, and the people and work that are setting the gold standard in the business. A dozen segments, ranging from poignant to insightful to lighthearted, captured the moment in time when advertisers learned anew how to help, and how to heal, in times of crisis.
Colson Baker aka Machine Gun Kelly’s rock opera, Downfalls High, was announced a winner in the Film/Video category for Music Marketing due to its contribution to the massive success of MGK's album, Tickets to My Downfall. The certified platinum album became the first rock album to reach Billboard’s #1 spot in over a year. It went on to win "Top Rock Album" at both the 2021 Billboard and iHeart Radio Awards.
Downfalls High features a cast of Sydney Sweeney, Chase Hudson, Jayden Hossler, Caroline Miner Smith aka Siiickbrain, and many others. It features performances by Machine Gun Kelly & Travis Barker, Trippie Redd, Blackbear, & Iann Dior. It was directed by Machine Gun Kelly and longtime friend and fellow musician Mod Sun.
An esteemed international awards competition, the Clio Awards celebrate bold work, honor excellence in advertising, inspire a competitive marketplace and foster meaningful connections within the creative community. This year’s competition was held in April.
