To celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Tiger, the American-based, Asian-centric music label 88rising hosted a global virtual festival called Double Happiness. The livestream was in support of the Asian Mental Health collective, a nonprofit which creates a supportive and empathetic community; collaborates with mental health professionals and organizations; and celebrates mental health stories as Asians.
Double Happiness rung in the new year with live performances from a variety of Asian artists, including Jackson Wang, Audrey Nuna, Warren Hue, Seori, Woosung, MILLI, as well as others. Along with their live performances, each artist spent some time describing what the Lunar New Year means to them and what kind of celebrations they have for the holiday.
The livestream aired on February 4th on 88rising’s YouTube channel, and amassed over 3.5 million views in the first week.
